“such hours are beautiful to live, but very hard to describe” ― Louisa May Alcott, Little Women
happy new year dearies

The Sticky (Prime)
A syrup farmer in Quebec turns to crime in a moment of desperation and that’s all I needed to hear and I was hooked. Margot Martindale plays Ruth in this story based on the true story of the Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist. I am sat.
Herby Whipped Feta (That Cheese Plate)
Martin Sheen’s character on Only Murders in the Buildings love for dip is something I completely understand. I think he would love this feta dip it’s delicious, the only change I made was instead of using onion powder (didn’t have any) I added a finely chopped shallot.
Say Nothing by Patrick Radden Keefe
This story of “murder and memory in Northern Ireland” is a true telling of life in and around Belfast during The Troubles. It was the best book I read in 2024 and one of the best books I’ve read ever. I was captivated from the very first chapter, this piece of narrative non fiction that reads like a novel I couldn’t put down. Most definitely recommend.
Little Women 2019
I rewatched this movie and I still love it as much as the first time I watched it. It just feels like a perfect cozy winter movie that I think everyone should rewatch, I’ll also be rereading the book so I can hate Amy all over again.
A true example of regrettably worth it, this pricy hand cream absorbs so quickly and leaves your hands feeling so soft but not sticky and I love it. You don’t need it but if you are in the market for a little treat or have hands that are feeling particularly dry this winter, you could look into this.
Flying without headphones (Wall Street Journal)
This story is subtitled “then Americans stopped using headphones” but unfortunately in this lovely country I call home Norway, people have also abandoned headphones. On planes, on trains, in the grocery store people can be heard having conversations ON SPEAKER PHONE, watching videos and listening to music. It’s one of those things that feels like it should be illegal but isn’t. Every time I see this occur in the wild I’m shocked and disturbed. Headphones people please, try the Bose Quiet Comfort.
Frank The New Yorker (YouTube)
This short documentary (fifteen minutes) tells the story of Frank the 99 year old attorney and his final case. Beautifully shot and I really enjoyed this!
The dogs were good this year, if you’re looking for some sweet doggy content watch this.
New Year’s Eve Confetti (YouTube)
Times Square New York, the ball drops and the confetti is released. Growing up I watched this happen on tv and to me it always seems magical. The confetti floating down on to the streets of the city some years swirling with the snow in the sky, just magic. This tells the story of the creation of that magic.
